Our Weekend Together

Duane and I had a great time down at the coast. We went to the dog races in Corpus Christi Saturday night and had a great time. Duane did okay and broke even but I on the other hand didn't fare so well and nor did I feel well the next moring after way tooo many Michelob Ultras! Going to the dog race is something Duane and I did when we first dated and then it became something we'd do for our anniversary. It's been quite some time since we'd been back. Sunday due to the fact that I had a huge headache we stayed in and watch the Spurs game at the cabin. Monday was our day at the beach and for some surf fishing that didn't happen. For any of you planning at trip to the beach at Port Aransas BEWARE of the massive amounts of seaweed! It's all over the beach. We could not even get into the water and if we did the water was solid seaweed! No way jose was I getting in that mess to surf fish, besides the waves were rough. So we drove to other parts of the coast and it wasn't much better elsewhere. There was some heavy machinery in the process of cleaning the beach. We decided to come home after the beach a day early. It was nice to spend time together since those days are soon to be over!!! Here are some pics of the beach!!!! Can you say YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is my new vacuum! Not sure if I am totally sold on it just yet. I have had the hardest time trying to find a vacuum with some serious suction! We have three cats and the house is all tile except for the two bedrooms and Karlee's has wood laminate. So obviously, I want something to get all the cat hair. I checked the consumer report and this Eureka is ranked better than the Dyson's brand unless you buy the most expensive model and its like $500+. I am not overly impressed with this vacuums performance, so I am very thankful I did not buy the Dyson. It did get the cat hair but the darn thing is quite heavy! Give me a few days and I should know if it's a keeper!

Today's Bargain!

Yes, folks you'd be proud! I went shopping and believe it or not, everything I purchased was on sale! This doesn't happen to me often, I never get good deals!!!
Anyways, I started off at Kohls and had a coupon for an extra 15% off! Got a few cute little outfits (Pink and green lady bug dress, Blue & White Capri set and some short sets)two pink and green beach towels and I new vacuum! Then I went to TJ Max (I never shop there, never find crap) and low and behold I found a watermelon beach towel and the cutest Ralph Lauren swimsuit for Karlee($49.00 on sale for $16.00) and a cute little hoodie outfit reg. $ 44 and on sale for $10.00. I then continued down the strip to Old Navy and found a pretty little white dress and a hat to match the swimsuit all on sale! I went into Children's Place, but nothing there grabbed my eye! I had lots of fun and boy do my feet hurt! Here some pic's of my great buys!!

I am a freak for this show and I have watched every season! I am watching as I type. That last Dance Joey and Kym did was just awesome! I also think Apolo and Julianne are adorable and excellent dancers but there's something about Joey and he gets my vote!!!!Laila, however just plain sucks!! I think she did her worse dancing in the finals. Anyways, I will be watching the finals tomorrow evening as I will not be working! GO JOEY!

Here is the stuff I ordered from Gymboree last week!! However, still no shoes!Once I get that referral, the damage will begin!!! Anyone know what size shoes to buy for what age???? I totally love shoes, but I am at a total loss for what size to get!

I'm Still Here!

Sorry it's been a while since I have posted. I have just been busy with work and more work! I have also done a little bit of shopping. I am waiting for my Gymboree order to arrive any day now. I can't wait to see everything. I can't wait to get that referral so I can get a better idea of what size clothing to buy Miss Karlee. Once I do, look out! I was at Dillard's the other day and boy do they have some super cute things. I only bought 2 outfits and can return if need be. The sales lady was so nice when I explained how I did not know what size to buy. I have bought mainly 12mts and up and mostly summer outfits. I just can't get into the fall things. I don't care what the season is when she fits into the outfits, I am trying it all on! I have no shoes for my girl and I have no clue on what might fit.


We celebrated my adorable nephews 1st birthday last weekend. His actual birthday was May 4th. But his Mommy Nicole had finals the week before so she needed the weekend to study. Peyton was pretty funny, he did not want anything to do with his cake. It took forever for him to finally get dirty! He's not walking just yet but it won't be long before his is running all over the place. He is just so darn cute!!!









I am off next week from UPS! Yeeh Haaw! Duane and I will try a little gambling in Eagle Pass, Tx at the Kickapoo Casino. Then we will head down to the coast for a little R & R and come home Tuesday night. It should be interesting, Eagle Pass isn't a real happening place. We were going to go to Lake Charles initially but decided it was a bit far to drive in a weekend trip. Anyway, it will be nice to spend time away just by ourselves. We always seem to travel and do thing with friends. I think this will be the first time since our honeymoon!

Low Key Weekend

This weekend Duane had to work so we did not do much. Last night we went to a 40th b-day party and had lots of fun with Duane's family. After the party we went to watch the De la Hoya fight. Not a big fan of boxing but it was entertainment and an opportunity to visit with Duane's sister and kid's from Abilene. Today, my brother, nephew and I went to Floresville to see how their new house was coming along. Everything looks good and they should be able to move in at the end of the month. We then had lunch at Mc Donald's and watched the Spurs win the first game against the Suns! That pretty much sums up our weekend. I get my cast of in the morning! I am so sooooo ready to get this thing off! One week down and three more to go until the next round of referrals!(Not that I'm counting or anything!)

My Sweet Nikko

Nikko was sleeping in Duane's shorts he left on the floor! Kinda funny since Nikko doesn't care for Duane!



This might bore some of you to death but I took Nikko to the vet 2 weeks ago for his annual check up and everything was great except for his teeth needed cleaning. So today, I took him to have his teeth cleaned. We did all the pre-op blood work and such but I was a bit nervous to put him under due to his age(16). I was thrilled to learn that his blood work was great and showed normal kidney function. (I was not aware that the kidney's could correct itself) When I went to drop him off this morning I got a little emotional and I felt like an idiot. Everything went well the Doctors and techs all commented on how good he looked for an older cat. However, he did take a bit longer to come out of the anesthesia and they had to wrap him up and put him in a oxygen type thingy with lights. Other than that, he's recovering well. He's just a little mad at me and that's fine, I am just glad he pulled through.


Oh...referral's did indeed get to November 1st so hopefully we are NEXT!!!!!! Congratulations Colleen and Jim! They finally received their referral of Ms. Hannah!
