Not So Happy Anniversary!

Today, is our 1 year anniversary of our LID! That is log in date for those of you not familiar with the lingo! Not something we thought would be possible but here we are facing an even longer wait. This time last year I thought the next six months would never come and now we have already doubled that wait! Had I known then how long the wait would be I can't honestly say I/we would have consisdered this option. After all the infertility issues, we just wanted a family the quickest way possible and China was our answer. I have been asked by a few if it would have been quicker if we had adopted domestically? I don't know if it would have been quicker or not but its not the road we chose. I just hope once we are home with our little girl, the pain of waiting really does go way like I hear it does!

In the meantime we are occupied by our two fur babies Nikko and Leon. Nikko Has been my baby for 15 years and I hope for many more to come. I aquired him while working for a vet in my very early 20's. He was brought in with his sibling at 4 days old and the woman wanted them destroyed! I chose Nikko and begged the other Vet Techs to take the others and they were all saved. My girlfriends can't believe he's still around. But the vet says he looks great for his age even with his kidney disease.

Leon is a cat that my friend Jessica brought to our apartment the night before Thanksgiving in 2000! She as well as some other friends and Duane were at a local bar and he happened to run though it. Her husband would not let her keep it so she talked Duane into it! Duane did not remember saying it was okay but Jessica brought the cat to me that night. (Why I was at home and not at Leons too I do not know!) Anyways, Leon is named after the bar and is Duane's baby! So thank you Jessica for not keeping him for yourself or I guess I should thank your husband Justin for not letting you have him! Here are a few pictures of our babies
